I'm posting here for the first time in over two years. In that time I have had two kids. I've changed jobs. My wife has changed jobs. Family members have moved. Friends have moved out of town, and other friends have moved back into town.
My oldest child - who was born two months after the previous post in this space - can run and jump and speak in full sentences. She likes to watch the robots dance on Google video. Google Earth has destabilized my industry (not yet really - but it's a cool program, if a bit pornographic)
Yahoo has acquired oddpost, flickr, musicmatch, konfabulator, and del.icio.us. They have also added rss and tagging to just about everything. As blogging and the social web have become more mainstream. Blogging is not new anymore as the age, and possible rebirth, of this particular blog can attest to.

The Other Side of Country :: "Somewhere in all the hype of the hard times this country has gone through recently, this band of overpaid bastards has become synonymous in some peoples' minds with the spirit of America. But, if you take away Posada, Jeter, Soriano, Williams and Rivera, the rest of this squad is the worst kind of mercenary piece of shit. This highly paid band of knuckleheads who failed so miserably last year against the Angels, were once again shorn up by their megalomaniacal owner, who went out and purloined the highest priced free agents available, so that his numbskull manager and coaching staff couldn't possibly screw up another season. These aren't hard hat guys. They aren't hard luck stories turned 'round by one last big break. They aren't even compelling individuals sacrificing personal gain for the good of the ballclub. If you live in New York, were born there, spent most of your adult life there, or are the child of a similar individual, then fine, they're your team. But they aren't my team, there is no set of circumstances that could be dreamed up where anyone outside their fan base should ever root for them at any time. And their greedy, lowlife, front-office philosophies don't fucking represent ANYTHING about the America I like to think that I live in."
Word - of course similar claims could be made against the Red Sox, but I am from Massachusetts, and they are my team.

Google Toolbar Installed
Now that I'm using the Google Toolbar. Maybe I'll make this my more personal site.... I got rid of the Google toolbar in favor of the yahoo toolbar under the impression that they were mutually exclusive. That was a long time ago. I'm much more free thinking now.

I'm starting to get bummed out that I can't figure out why only one posts shows at a time... I really haven't put any work into it. It should be obvious. I guess I'm just waiting for the answer to come to me....

Has anyone else noticed that Rice's stunning victory in the College World series has been a headline on Google news for like a week straight. I've heard more about college baseball this year then ever before, which is odd considering my interest has moved not one iota from it's historical place at zero.
I can't even find very many people interested in real baseball never mind college baseball. Why do colleges even have sports? I'm sure I'm in the minority on this one, but clearly college football and basketball are money making schemes, which is an odd sort of buisness for a college to be in... But it makes me think, why shouldn't the state of Minnesota own the vikings? It makes at least as much sense as the University of Minnesota "owning" the Gophers.
Damn, I like this new Blogger interface.

1)In a fit of nostalgia, I downloaded an Apple IIe emulator. And Bolo. And... Apple IIe's are shokingly hard to use. I couldn't even get bolo running before I gave up. The main problem was I couldn't find documentation for Apple IIe syntax, and I got a lot of Syntax errors. It doesn't take too long using a different operating system before I'm all "Windows rules, and for good reason"....
2) My four favorite games are Bolo (Apple IIe), Civilization (Windows 95), and Adventure (Atari 2600) and Daytona 500 Arcade style.
3) The kid I visited in France had an Amiga. I knew then that I was in a foreign country.
4) Bolo Civilization Adventure would be an awesome game.
Time passes, and since my blog is messed up, and I don't feel like finishing it right now... It's a two for one!
I got bolo working! I think the last time I played this game was maybe 4th grade. It's as good as I remember it, however it's clearly a tank. I didn't know a bolo was a tank. I didn't think too much about it, I just figured it was going so fast it must be flying.
